Hybrid beacons for Venice Airport
The goal was the signaling of modifiable routes at Venice Airport runways. It was necessary to use freely relocatable beacons.
Therefore, these lights should be reliable, totally autonomous equipment and not physically dependent on to electrical wiring connection. Even more with the capacity to be quickly recharged (if necessary) switching it to the grid.
Finally, should have a base allowing them to remain stable on the ground and being able to move manually without problems.
To solve these needs we developed the Hybrid beacon, which combines solar energy operation (autonomy) with electrical energy (fast recharge capacity), adding the possibility of converting the night operation of the beacon into operation “on demand” 24h , using a radio button. For the mobile positioning of the beacons on the runway, special cones are provided easily coupled to the beacon, allowing them to remain visible on the track.
The set incorporate handles inthe design of the beacon to perform the relocation manually without problems.
These beacons can also be used forinternal signaling in mines, works, etc …
