All-in-One: Yesterday and Today of Obstruction Warning Lights

Still today some classic luminous obstruction warning lights are installed, illuminated with a classic “E25 screw” lamp. Covered by an enclosure with red Fresnel optics, they are assembled on metal casings, with an additional electrical box, with the power supply and electronic control of the beacon operation inside.

In some cases, a supplementary twilight sensor, installed externally, allowed the beacon to be switched on at night and automatically switched off during the day.

With the incorporation of LED technology, much more reliable and ten times less energy consuming than the classic beacons, some manufacturers expanded their product range with solar powered devices, adding to their equipment a solar panel with an additional box for the batteries (one more!).

In front of this adaptation of previous designs, IVSOLAR appeared on the international market with a new concept of beacons: all-in-one.

Starting from scratch, a compact, ultra-low-consumption beacon, powered by solar energy, was developed. The light head, the solar panel, the control electronics, the power supply and the twilight sensor are assembled as part of a single unit.

Light but highly resistant materials were used for its manufacture and the result was a beacon of high reliability and ease of installation. A single equipment improves its sealing capacity against inclement weather and makes the set lighter, compact and resistant.

During past years there have been many improvements made to the IVSOLAR beacons. To do so we have used the new technologies and technical capabilities that the market offers us (GPRS, GPS, new electronics, more efficient optics, etc.).

IVSOLAR currently offers the widest range of obstruction warning lights on the market, among which we find those powered by solar energy, connected to the electricity grid, batteries, or with hybrid power (solar + electric).
